A new blogger gets it right
Hi Everyone,
Welcome back to a now reactivated blog, I have finally got the hang of doing things on this. I never said that I couldn’t use modern technology, it just takes me a while to get it right and now I can put stuff into it after each meeting.
Probably by the time everyone reads this we will be having our last gathering for the year, celebrating a profitable and fun time together with Leads Success Brisbane. This Thursday, 17/12/2009, we will be having a general discussion and no specific speakers.
Welcome to John Bellamy, from Conveyancing Works. John lives in Birkdale, but deals with business contacts on the Northside and up the Coast, he is very busy. He has a lovely 6 months old, with whom is he besotted; and a lovely wife as well. John promised to beat all comparable Conveyancing quotes by 5%.
Sadly we say goodbye to Derek Miles our accountant, he is taking sometime out to sort issues related to him. Much as we hope he comes back, we are now open to a new Accountant and Solicitor, as well as other vacancies which we don’t have filled already. Check your business contacts and see if in 2010 we can increase our group with more and more members.
Speakers for Thursday 10/12/09 were Audrey Petersen and Janeece Giraldo.
Audrey from Petersen’s Car Consultants and Automobile repairs spoke about her travels around the Mediterranean. Audrey spoke enthusiastically about Turkey and how amphitheatres, designed many centuries ago, could project sound all the way to the back stands so all could hear the stage. It shows that we have not always learnt as many things as we would like to think we have.
Janeece Giraldo from WIN Financial Network stepped in at the last moment to speak.
Janeece spoke about the difference between billionaires and millionaires; billionaires read their goals at least 3 times a day, millionaires read them once a day. Initially she thought that she was crossing into Mary Ryan (8 Carat Coaching)’s area of expertise, but Mary reassured her that all coaching from many areas is good. So a New Year’s Resolution could be to write up your goals and have them where you can read them 3 times a day, and soon we will be on the way to being millionaires/billionaires!
Speakers for Thursday 3/12/09 were Ngaire Birch of Bircharomas - aromatherapy and massage, who spoke about a range of natural first aid remedies to have at home suitable for the whole family. Some of the remedies covered were Essential Oils of Lavender, Peppermint, Ginger and Tea Tree. Herbal remedies mentions included Chamomile, Lemon Balm, Calendula and Ginger. Homeopathic remedies included Arnica – good for bruising and Nux Vomica – any forms of nausea (suitable for children and pregnant women). A comprehensive data sheet is available on request from her.
The other speaker was Simon Penrose from Surecom, a communications expert. Simon talked about many types of communications and how technology has blurred the data transfer, both verbal and information so that many systems can be meshed. Another area that Simon can help in is the moving of companies, he knows the right questions to ask, its better to know before you move that your business will be able to run properly from the start, rather than settling in and finding out problems which the telecommunications company didn’t think about and not being able to fix quickly. Also, he can help to smooth line the cost of telecommunications system by helping to link out-of-office workers with the company to help reduce mobile phone costs. For more information, contact Simon for a greater explanation on cost savings and smoother operations of your telecommunications needs.

Hi ya all !!!
Speakers last week:
Simon gave us an insight to the work Brisbane North Chamber of Commerce does , also inviting us to the meeting with the Lord Mayor of Brisbane " CandoCampbell". Also to make us aware of the positive way membership would give us a connection to the 3 levels of government. Thanks Simon.
Debbie Cowie gave us also an insight into how the body works and to teach us to ask it for answers and simple tips on correct hydration. Always interesting Debbie.
Next week (tomorrow ) Glen our computer trouble shooter & Julia our skin care Trouble Shooter will impart knowledge.
Special mention also to the previous week's speakers, Debbie from Candy Bouquet with her new newsletter and specialty arrangements for cats , teachers etc. and don't forget Ngaire's summer special for $40 where all her rocks are "home grown".
Thanks to our visitor "Derek Miles" management from another leads club.....who knows where that may lead.
Great to have strong membership support over last couple of weeks. let's keep it up.

Hi All,

Edward had us going with the Chocolate game, perhaps next time we can substitute..say Champagne!
we also had a visit from our chapter consultant Annette, who gave us a pep talk about members and perhaps using new "CHAIRS" with the next committee to encourage the retention of members.
Don't forget to bring along a visitor for the day!

Thanks to Debbie james for hosting the "Mixer" / Xmas in July last Friday night.!!

Thanks to Tony, we had a visit from his colleague Andrew Lind who is a solicitor. Hope he enjoyed the morning and will consider joining.
Speakers: Audrey gave X- trails the big TICK and also gave us some insite into 2nd hand cars, check ownership etc before you buy. With her other cap on gave also a precis on Spirole Tea & some of the problems it can fix......hold on I will just make myself a new brew.

Karen,gave some in site into where you can go wrong with DIY cheap flights .. make sure you get the year right. So Karen for all your bookings, even domestic can be done by Karen with a small surcharge. I think that is worth it for the peace of mind.

Now I would have to say that my 'phone has not been running hot with appointments to visit me at my office !! >>>>>>>>
ONE ON ONE or ONE ON ONES however you want to call it.. are designed to meet with your fellow members at their premises. This will give you a better understanding of what they do & how you can increase referrals.
Now for the months of June & July, our management team are having a competition to see who does the most visits. Prizes will be won.
Lets get organised.

Welcome aboard Ros Little, our latest addition to our friendly group!
Ros will be talking a little ( DOH!) about herself and business on Thursday. Following that we have Robyn Clarke with an ANZAC day related story.
Thank you to our 2 speakers from last week; don't forget to get your new car orders in by end of June ( make an appointment with Tony to be sure ). And also to Janice with some better news of the market. Lets hope she can keep the market going!
Edward will be back this week, with I expect/hope , good news about the next Management
Team.

Hi Leads Success fellow members,
Hope you all had a great Easter, I am still at Burleigh Heads, but swimming in the rain is OK.

Next week we get the "GOOD OIL " from Janice, so we can claw back our fortunes and also from Tony on how we will be able to keep it from the Taxman.

Hi All & thanks for a positive morning today:
Our speakers were Ngaire & Janeece, thank you.
Next week we will have the "pleasure" of the company of "Stephen Durley", who will inform us of the role/responsibilities of 1st response officer with the Ambulance.
Mixer: Don't go to Robyn's this Friday night, can I suggest that we all turn up next Friday the 20th, for a wine tasting etc.
Not that you all really care, but I enjoyed my breakfast this morning V P + B and it seems more timely. Thanks Audrey for sorting out the delays. Any other issues with breakfast?

Next week we have a guest speaker by invitation from Tony.
John Kenny will speak on the subject of Intellectual Property.
MIXER : thanks to Tony for a great mixer at his premises last night, and thanks to those that supported the event. Next mixer is at Robyn's house and although Tony set a high benchmark, with catering, I am sure Robyn is up to the challenge. hopefully she will be back shortly from NZ.
